Mountain High Cycling was designed to show-off the best cycling areas in Southern California.
Mountain High's destination in April is in the lovely desert at Joshua Tree National Park. You are sure to enjoy the back roads with few traffic lights, good paved roads, and a variety of fun, scenic climbs.
April 18, 2008 will be the third time for the Joshua Tree ride, but this year it will be a metric double century, instead of a double century. The ride will begin at 6:15 AM at the 7-Eleven Store and finish at the Sunset Motel
The route description will be posted soon.
The route slip will have rest stops on it. However, to keep costs down, I would appreciate each of you helping me with a gallon or two of water, and two sacks with your name on it & any other food you like (one for each sag vehicle). Of course I will bring food & water also. I just don't want to be running out of anything in the desert.
Like last year, I recommend eating dinner at Denney's after the ride, at Hwy 62 & Adobe Road, across the street from the 7-11 start, about 1 mile from Sunset Motel.
It can be freezing cold in the early morning, & at night!! Please, ride single file in the National Park. On the other hand, please try to ride in groups of two or more & help each other out along the way. I wish I were riding with you!
If you plan on attending, please Register so we know you are coming.
The winds to your back! Anny Beck
