Anny Beck - Ride Director

The Mountain High Ride Director, Anny Beck, has been riding ultra-distance for 28 years.

She peddled across the US with Wandering Wheels in 1979,1980,1982.1983,1985,1989, &1990, averaging 100 miles/day. She was the 2nd female to earn a silver medal for crossing the US five times with W. Wheels.

In 1996 & 1997 she was the only female on the 4-tandem "men's" team. Her Captain in '96 was John Williams, and her Captain in '97 was Dennis Kokas. This had never been done before 1996, & in 1997, racing against a 4-tandem mixed team, they took first place again.

In 2005 she went across the US with PacTour, averaging 125 miles/day for 26 consecutive days.

Anny has ridden 50 double centuries, and 1 triple century. As far as just century's go, in the year 2,000 year she had kept track of over 2,000. Since then she has chosen not to keep track. .

Other tours include: San Fransisco to Oceanside twice, Oregon Coast, Colorado Rockies, and Utah, van camping twice. Competing in The World Senior (Olympic) Games in St. George, Utah at 50, she racked up all 4 gold medals in the non-professional racing category.

She is the creator of USA Tripple Crown. Her occupations include being a Nutri-Energetics Practitioner, and teaching Certified Nursing classes. One long-term goal she is aiming for is to be the first female cyclist to ride her bicycle across the US when she is 100. Therefore, she practices & passes on a lot of education in the area of nutrition.

Although Anny has been married for 21 years, she considers herself to be a "tandem widow" as her husband was hit by a drunk driver in their 2nd year of marriage. He has encouraged her to "never stop tandeming", even though he can no longer ride a bicycle. As one of eight children from a severely dysfunctional home, she is glad she never had kids, but at the same time is very happy being an Aunt to over 26 nieces & nephews. You will find the inscription on Anny's Calfee tandem "God has been good" . On her titanium frame, she has, "God is Good". She says her next bike will say "God is Good All the Time". Her faith in God has helped her view life from God's perspective, and this is why she likes to end her communications with "Lookin' Up", Anny
